Excerpt:

I opened eyes to bright lights. I covered my face with my arm and propped myself up to sit on the bed. I was in the new infirmary. Oh jeez, I’d have to deal with Derek now.

 “Annie?”

I squinted enough to see Jenny standing by my side.

“How are you feeling?” she asked.

“Blind.”

“Give it a minute for your eyes to adjust.”

“Or you can turn off the lights.”

“Big baby,” I heard her chuckle.

“What happened? Did he get away?” I asked.

“Yes, Andrew and I had to take care of you. We had no choice.”

“What is it with me lately? I can’t seem to get a good fight in.”

“Stop complaining. You kicked major butt with all of those guys,” she said.

“What happened with everyone? Are they okay? Lisa was on the floor...”

“Everyone is fine. Lisa and one of the guards were tased. And the other one was shot, but he was wearing a vest.” She put her hand on my shoulder. “The Lumins are fine. Their personal safe was missing all of the documents they kept inside, but their money and jewelry were left behind.”

“Yes, I was there when they took the contents out.”

“Nick has everything, then?”

I nodded. “It was in the backpack. We got his team, though, so maybe we can get Nick’s location from one of them.”

“That’s not going to happen,” she mumbled as she looked down.

“Why not? We captured them. Lisa can get the information for us.”

“They’re all dead,” she said.

“WHAT? No, most of them were alive, we can get the info—” I stopped when she shook her head. “What are you saying?”

“They had kill chips connected to their hearts. When the team arrived to take them in, all they found were dead bodies with blood running out of their eyes. We found the chips. It looks like they were remotely activated.”

“I can’t believe he would do that! Next time— no matter who he hurts— we have to take him down, Jenny. We cannot worry about each other. If we keep letting him slip away, we’re all going to be dead soon enough.” I stared at my hands, lost in thought.

Today I would like to share with you the kissing scene taken from my upcoming Paranormal Romance with fantasy and steam punk elements, HOMECOMING. It's a little over 250 words, though.

He brushed her cheek with his knuckles. Flames licked her skin as his fingertips traced her throat, and when they skated over the dented spot on her nose—a souvenir from her first fight in the Rings four years ago—she wasn’t sure she was breathing anymore. His hand slid lower to unhook her bag from her shoulder, and he tossed it on the closest table, where it landed with a big thud.

Without warning, he cupped her neck firmly, and his fingers worked out the leather band holding her hair on the nape of her neck. Her  hair tumbled around her shoulders in waves.

“Much better,” he said, playing with a few strands between his fingers, then leaned down and buried his face against her neck, sniffing long and hard until she felt as if he’d breathed in every trace of her scent into his body. “You still have my scent. Deep in your veins.” His sounded smug, satisfied.

Thank gods he couldn’t smell Aniek’s venom. Or maybe he was so drunk on the fact his scent was still embedded in her he didn’t notice. He pulled back and pressed his lips to hers. She was hypnotised, her cat purring, and at some point, trilled in joy when his lips left her mouth, kissed her jaw, then licked the vein on her neck, then nipped it with his teeth. When his mouth connected with hers again, there was nothing gentle in the kiss, and heavens help her, she didn’t want to pull away. Cat and woman were for once in synchrony. They wanted him.

Their mate.

My thoughts:

Soul Survivor is unique Story. It starts off with Hailee meeting with Alex, then realises she is more than what she thought she was. And that Alex is her Guardian angel. On top of that they are falling inlove pretty fast.
I love this concept about Darkness and Light because Hailee is pulled pulled in both directions and is unable to choose between Alex the good Boy-light and Seth the bad Boy -Darkness. But there is more going on than just romance. Hailee has difficult decisions to make. This Story is about finding out who you are, accepting it. Your fate. There were some shifts in tense which Kind of bothered me because  I had to go back and reread the sentences -but maybe that's just a writer's quirk  (me). :)
If you are looking for anothe spin on Angels, pick this one up! I really enjoyed it.

Cover Reveal: I Am Yours by Faith Sullivan & More Than Just A Kiss Blogfest

More Than Just A Kiss Blogfest continues ~ The blogfest is open to everyone. Hit us with that kisstastic snippet. Make us swoon, laugh, sigh, cry, and yearn. All you need to do is sign up HERE.

Today I will share with you a snippet from How Many Ways (Truly Madly short story)

Frey fought to keep his eyes on her face, but lost the battle. His hands fell to his sides. His gaze dipped low and hovered on her breasts, then down and quickly up again. He couldn't linger down there. Otherwise he'd lose control. It was already frayed as it was.

"God, you're beautiful, Sweet Li," he said. "Your beauty surpasses my imagination."

"You've imagined how I look?"

"A million times, but those images don't come close to this." Frey brought his mouth to hers, but kissed the side of her mouth instead. He nibbled and kissed her jaw, avoiding her lips knowing if he kissed her sweet mouth it would be over before it began. She tilted her head to meet his lips and whimpered when he didn’t fulfil her wish.

"Your mouth, your kiss is addictive and I want this to last. If I do kiss you, I'm afraid I might not last," he murmured in her ear. “Liese, you have no idea how many ways I've imagined touching you–really touching you. How many ways I’ve dreamt about making sweet love to you." Frey slid his fingertips down her spine to the small of her back and her knees buckled. He scooped her in his arms swiftly before she slipped on the floor, brought his mouth to her ear and whispered, “You are mine, Liese and I promise to show you.” He carried her to their bedroom and lay her on the bed.
